Free Debt Counselling

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity working through a network of centres based in local churches.  CAP offers hope and a solution to those experiencing debt through its unique, in-depth Debt Help service.  It shows God’s love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through debt counselling, advice and practical help.  CAP’s unique ‘1 to 1’ approach empowers people to help themselves out of poverty and be released from the fear, oppression and worry generated by overwhelming debts.

The charity is a growing organisation whose vision is to respond to the national problem of personal debt in the UK through operating at least one CAP Debt Centre in every major town and city.  Churches across Mole Valley are partnering with CAP to offer a free debt counselling service in our area.  At St Paul's CAP is one of the ministries in our Social Justice Network.

If you are struggling with debt and would like an initial discussion, without commitment, with an experienced counsellor, do call 0800 328 0006 to book an initial appointment.   Visit www.capdebthelp.org to find out more about the services we offer.

Prayer is vital to the work of CAP and we holding regular ‘Zoom’ prayer meetings during the current Corona Virus outbreak.  These meetings are a great opportunity to find out about what is happening locally and nationally and to prayfully support Jennie, our Centre Manager, Richard, our debt coach, our volunteers, our clients, and the staff at Head Office in Bradford, who do an amazing job.

To find out more about volunteering with CAP, if you would like to join our prayer meeting, or if you have any questions, do contact Rob Wheatley who is our St Paul’s CAP representative (via reception@stpaulsdorking.org.uk).
