Dorking Food Bank

 Autumn 2017Food Bank

Thank you to you all for your continued support of the Dorking Area Foodbank. We are so grateful to every single person who donates food and/or gives financially to our operation. It is only through the generosity of the people of Dorking and the villages that we continue to be able to feed those who seek our help.
We are currently receiving tons (literally) of food from local schools, Churches and community groups as Harvest is celebrated around the town and in our local villages. The warehouse volunteers are working extremely hard to weigh and sort all of this produce as every single item is checked for date and condition before storage.
This food is essential for us to be able to meet all our Christmas responsibilities, whether it is through the distribution centre, through emergency food boxes, the Christmas Pop Up at the Children’s centre on Goodwyn’s Estate or through hampers and Christmas donations given out by local charities.
And as time is going on, the demand for food is increasing.
Many thanks if you are one of our many donors – every item that you give, counts.
Our current prayer requests:
  • That those who need food would find us this Christmas
  • For energy for volunteers in this busy season
  • That we would be able to find the right way to get food to families who experience ‘holiday hunger’ during the school holidays when extra food has to be found to cover for school meals

‘for I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…….’Matthew 25, 35

We are always looking for people with a little spare time to give to the work of the Foodbank. If you are interested in volunteering for us please email:
